Ego Surfing

Wikipedia defines Ego Surfing as...

Egosurfing (also called vanity searching, egosearching, egogoogling, autogoogling, self-googling, or simply Googling yourself) is the practice of searching for one's own given name, surname, full name, pseudonym, or screen name on a popular search engine, to see what results appear.[1] It has become increasingly popular with the rise of popular search engines such as Google, as well as free blogging and web-hosting services.

I was drawing a blank on what to post for Jeremy's birthday when an idea occurred to me... What would Jeremy find if he googled his name? I fired up the old computer, went to GOOGLE and typed in ... "JEREMY SCHELL".

Well, it turns out there is a fellow who races ATV's (four wheelers) who is also named Jeremy Schell. He must be pretty popular because Google had links to 1500 stories, almost all of them about him. Feeling a little disappointed I clicked on the link to do an IMAGE search and, sure enough, up popped picture after picture of racing ATV's. I scrolled down the page and was about to give up on my story idea when something caught my eye. There he was, in the middle of all those photos of the ATV racer was our Jeremy, sitting there in his old Dodge pickup truck, grinning like he had just won the Daytona 500.

I bet it won't be long before that other Jeremy Schell has trouble finding his picture in among all the pictures of our Jeremy.

Job Hunting

I understand Jim is spending this birthday looking for a new job.  I'm sure he won't have any trouble finding work.  All the years he has been married to Michelle has conditioned him to handle a lot of jobs many of us wouldn't consider.  For example:

Any of the things the guy does on that TV show Dirty Jobs will seem like a vacation compared to living with Michelle.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIM !

And Good Luck with the job hunting.

Belated Birthday Wishes

I need to apologize for missing Jennifer's birthday a couple of weeks ago. It was on February 14th, Valentine's Day.

I wonder what Shawn got his new bride for her first birthday as his wife. Since it fell on Valentine's Day, did he get her roses?

Did he get her a box of chocolates? Jewelry? Lingerie?

Oh, that reminds me, has there been any progress on getting Sherry a grandchild? I saw her clipping coupons for diapers the other day. (I didn't notice, they may have been the Adult kind.)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JENNIFER !

Father Knows Best

Amber told me that Lauren had invited them to come to Nancy’s to celebrate Jaden’s first birthday.  All week the children had been waiting to go to the party. They know that a party at Aunt Nancy’s is better than a day at Disney World.

The morning of the big day finally arrived and Amber crawled out of bed and announced to Austin, Caleb and Caitlyn that it was time to get ready for the trip to Gainesville. They all ran to their rooms to get dressed.  A few minutes later Caitlyn ran out of her room squealing with excitement. She was going to Aunt Nanny’s!

As Amber turned to look at her she could not believe her eyes.  Caitlyn had put on a bathing suit.  Now I know we live in Florida, but on this particular day it was about 40 degrees outside. Amber tried to talk Caitlyn out of the bathing suit. She begged her, she explained to her how cold it was, she threatened her, but nothing worked.

She was ready to pull her hair out, when the man of the hour, Jevon,  walked into the room and asked, “Amber, would you like me to take care of this for you?”

Amber quickly responded, “Yes! Would you please!”

Now Amber thought Jevon would just continue with her techniques. You know...begging, pleading, and just down right screaming.  But no, Daddy had another plan.  One worthy of Ottie himself.

Jevon looked at Caitlyn and asked, “Caitlyn, would you like to wear that bathing suit today?”

Amber's mouth dropped to the floor as she heard Caitlyn answer her dad, “Yes Dad! Can I wear it?”

Jevon, in his sweetest voice looked down at her and shook his head.  He reached down to get her hand in his, he led her through the living room and reached for the front door.  Amber watched in amazement as Jevon threw Caitlyn out onto the porch in the cold.

She looked out at Caitlyn standing out in the cold with only her bathing suit on.  Big tears started to well up in Caitlyn's eyes as she looked up at her Dad.  He asked her again, “Are you sure you want to wear that bathing suit?”

She looked up at him and shouted, “Daddy, you can’t do me like that! You can’t do people like that!”

“Caitlyn,” he asked again, “Are you sure you want to wear that bathing suit?”

She screamed, “Noooooooooo!” She pushed her way into the house, ran into her room, put on several layers of clothes and her ski coat. Now she was ready to go.

Daddy, you can’t do people like that!
