Florida Girls

A promo for a new show on Pop-TV caught our attention today.

I looked over at Jennie when it ended and said, "Oh my Lord!  They've made a movie about Jeffery's girls."

Jennie laughed and said, "I knew you were going to say that about the Guinea Girls."

Cameron's Photo Timeline

Crystal posted Cameron's School Photo Record to Instagram today...

This is a neat idea and sure triggers a lot of memories.

Somehow it seems just a bit too formal for me though, too cleaned up, too posed.  This just isn't the Cameron I remember.  The little stinker I remember looks more like this...

CONGRATULATIONS on your graduation Cameron!

UNFAIR Treatment

I don't think it's FAIR that poor little Sophia gets called out for flashing a couple of gang signs...

...when Grandma Jeff has been flashing signs for that Rabbit Ears Gang forever.

It's just not FAIR for a good girl to be treated that way.

Drawing the Line

After yesterday's post, there may be some people wondering if there is anything I wouldn't post on the StalkerClan.  I obviously enjoy embarrassing family members, especially teenagers - my favorite victims.

I've been wondering, where would I draw the line when it comes to what to post?

For instance, if a certain fellow was having a birthday, would I post a picture of him as a youngster sharing a bathtub with a cousin?

Of course, I would. I've probably done it a dozen times already.

How about a photo of him showing off his manly physique?

Hey, I'd post that without a second thought.

A slightly messy photo from the dinner table?

Have you seen some of the photos I've posted of his grandmother?  Obviously, I'd post it.

Would I post a school photo that might have been scheduled at an unfortunate time?

My conscience would bother me just for a second or two but, yes, I would probably post it.

Would I 'Doctor Up' a candid pic of him with lipstick, glasses, sombrero and whatever?

NO, NO, NO! This is way over the line.

What if his OTHER girlfriends were to see this?

I wouldn't do that to anyone.  Not even someone who once caught me downwind of him.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CAMERON!

Silly Sunday Sketches - Ski-Biscuit

Here is my sketch of the infamous Ski-Biscuit Incident from thirty-some years ago...

An astute observer, looking at this, will notice that my right foot is where my left foot should be, and vice-a-versa.  Also, my legs are waaaay too far apart.  That's pretty much how I ended up.

The more typical StalkerClan reader will look at this and think, "Wonder where Crystal's nose is stuck?"

Mayberry McInnis Meme

Browsing my Instagram feed today I came across this recent photo that Caitlyn had posted of her and a friend...

caitlyn.spam05  Just remember if we get caught I’m deaf and you don’t speak English!

I'm wondering, "Where in the world has she heard that?  Is it from a movie I haven't seen? Stupid and Stupider or Napoleon TNT or something like that?"

A quick Google search reveals it is a quote from Rick Riordan and is a popular meme on the internet.  You can buy T-shirts, posters and other things with this saying on them.

Scrolling down one more post I think I found the perfect photo for this meme...

cmcinnis80 #sisters
g8trs99 Pics in the theater?
cmcinnis80 @g8trs99 yep

I suspect this meme probably originated with this duo.  Now I'm fearing the next generation of Florida kids is going to be just as wild and crazy as the one before it.

Ootie Riggin' TNG

We've seen several examples of Ootie Riggin' on the StalkerClan in years past.  Looks like this old family tradition is being carried on by The Next Generation (TNG)...

Take an Amazon box, some toilet paper rolls, some tape, add a little imagination and you've got yourself an alarm clock.  Sophie, apparently, doesn't want to oversleep and be late for school.  Watch her creation in action.

Sophie Starts School

Sometimes hardcore personalities require hardcore parenting ... then sometimes, their hardcore outplays yours...

Soph: (after crying about having to go to school all morning) “Why do I have to go to school?!”

Why do I have to go to school?

Me: (deciding it’s time to be blunt): “So you’re not an idiot your entire life.”

Soph: (feigning deep thought): “Well, Cameron and Cason have gone to school a long time and they’re both still idiots”.:.

Well played, Soph. Well played.

Decisions Decisions

I can't make up my mind what photo to use to wish Crystal a Happy Birthday.  I could use that famous baby photo but we've displayed it about two hundred times already...

There's always that photo of her choking the frog, but I really don't want to deal with all those complaints from PETA again...

The photo of teenage Crystal that inspired the "Food Fight" scene in Animal House is a good one.  I could go with it...

Or should I use something more recent?

I hate having to make these decisions.  Oh No! I've run out of time...

Crystal's Eulogy for Traci

From as far back as I can remember, Traci loved the outdoors.  Her favorite color was camouflage, and every November, she would fight with me over whose turn it was to go hunting with dad.  Ultimately, I would concede my turn to her because, once you got down to it, 4am was just a ridiculous time for me to wake up for anything.  For Traci, however, it was heaven.

She was also tenacious and driven.  I vividly remember when she decided that she needed a horse.  I use the term “needed” because everything with her was a zealous desire. She didn’t just ASK for a horse… she drew pictures of horses… hundreds of them… and posted them around the house.  She would write stories about having horses and would vocalize this daily.  She was the master of wearing our parents down for things, which I thoroughly took advantage of.  😊

In school, she was intelligent, beautiful, and athletic.  Her talents came so naturally that I often found myself jealous of her fundamental abilities and intellect.  She was loved by everyone who met her, including teachers, coaches, and friends.  She played softball, volleyball, and loved hunting, fishing, and horseback riding.  She also ran her own tree removal business, climbing to the highest of highs to get the job done.  She was one of the toughest women I have ever known.

Traci’s life took on a new meaning on October 11, 2000.  She gave birth to Cameron, who was the love of her life.  She would read to him daily and was always showing him math flash cards before he could even read (maybe this is why he is so smart).  Cameron was her sidekick, the thing she was most proud of in life. He became her best friend, and through her, he developed strength, determination, and a strong passion for life.  Traci was born with all these same gifts, so it was natural to see them all reflected in Cameron.  Even at the end, Cameron remained her most prized possession.

Traci’s lifelong battles were long and hard, but through it all, she always had a smile for everyone.  She would always show up with gifts for the little ones, or a kiss for her parents and sisters.  She had so much love to give but struggled with how to balance her two very different worlds.  Throughout it all, however, we have never stopped loving her.  She a mother, daughter, sister, cousin, and friend. She will never be forgotten.

Cupcake Wars

Sophia and her cousins made the paper this week! Credit to my awesome sister, @ambermaybe5 , for being so domestic that she has skills for the both of us and comes up with some amazingly fun projects for her kids (and mine). How cool!

Facebook Foto Finds ( Good and Bad )

As I’ve said before, my favorite feature of Facebook is the photo application where a lot of folks share their family photos.  The Guinea Girls in Florida have posted a lot of pictures over the past few months.   Here are a few of my recent favorite finds:
What are those bubbles, Cameron? Oh Noooo!

Can we just live here, Mommy?

Do they need another Tinkerbelle?

Unfortunately, there is a downside to browsing Facebook too.  This series of pictures in one of Crystal’s albums has triggered my Ski Biscuit Nightmares all over again…

Just when I thought I could maybe end the twice-weekly therapy sessions with my shrink, after twenty years of treatment,  I get thrown back to square one.  I haven’t slept in three nights now.
I understand Florida was home to the woman thought to be the nation’s first female serial killer.  I suspect Crystal may be Florida and the nation’s first female serial ‘Ski Biscuit’ killer.  From the photos on her Facebook account, it looks like she has had several victims recently.  I hope the authorities in Florida can stop this carnage soon.  She needs to be locked away for a long, long time.

Caleb is Out of Surgery

The last report I had Caleb was out of surgery (his second this week) and was doing well.
Here is a photo that Crystal sent.  She said this was right after he came out of surgery.

Robbie’s Home in Texas

Crystal went to visit Robbie recently.  She wanted me to post a few photos of Robbie’s home in Texas.

Here’s the front, looks like it is all decorated up for Christmas.
The back of the house looks just as impressive as the front.
The back porch has an awesome fire pit.
Everyone’s favorite room … the kitchen.
Robbie’s shed out back has an exercise room upstairs. (Hey, I could live it there.  I wouldn’t need the exercise equipment though.)
Here are Crystal and Robbie watching the big game. (Built in flat screen TV with surround sound speakers recessed in the wall.  I am so jealous!)
I like this little touch, it reminds me of the plaque in Jeff and Randy’s kitchen.

I guess Crystal wanted us all to see how the rich Ratliff’s live.

Cheerleader Crush

It looks like Caleb and Cason got to live out every guy’s fantasy, being mobbed by a squad of pretty cheerleaders.
Come back in about ten years girls.
I wonder how they did it.  Did they tell the cheerleaders their names were Caleb Tebow and Cason Tebow maybe?

De-Friended on Facebook

I have been de-friended on Facebook.  I can’t believe it!  I’m devastated!

I logged into Facebook this morning and browsed around for a few minutes.  It occurred to me, after a bit, that I hadn’t seen anything from Crystal recently.  I thought to myself, “I’ll go check her wall to see what is going on in her world.”

I clicked on the link to show my ‘friends list’ and scrolled down it looking for Crystal.  She wasn’t there.  I clicked on the link again and made sure it was showing ‘All Friends’, not just ‘Recent Friends’ or ‘Friends I Actually Like’ or something like that.   I scrolled through the list again, still no Crystal.  All I can figure is… she has de-friended me!

What have I done to deserve this?  Did I go too far with that story about Robbie’s sand-castle swamp and the Tennessee fans?  Was it the Hen Tale for her birthday?  Why would she do this to me?

I’m really going to miss seeing all the pictures Crystal posted to her account.  No more ‘Cason’s First Baseball Practice’ or ‘Cason’s First Game’.  No more pictures of all the Ratliff and McInnis families, especially the kids.  This really hurts!  It hurts worse than the Ski-Biscuit ride.  No, wait a minute,  that’s not right, it doesn’t hurt that bad.  It’s a different kind of hurt, in a different place, but not that bad.

I’m really having a hard time dealing with this rejection.  I wonder, is there a support group for people de-friended on Facebook?  Where do they meet?  Do they have a Facebook page?  Gosh, I hope they don’t use Twitter.

Facebook Foto Flubs

I’ve tried recently to share some of the best photos that I find on Facebook.  There have been some really cute pics of the grandkids and great-grandkids.  I think it has been worth the trouble to get a Facebook account just to keep up with the photos that Crystal, Tiffany and Dawn post to their pages.

On the other hand, there are some downsides to this Facebook Foto business.  Here is an example.  This is from a photo album of Cason and Caitlyn’s birthday party that Crystal just posted:

I guess this is the price we have to pay to see the pictures of the cute grandkids.  Every now and then we’re going to be subjected to something like this.

Now this isn’t Crystal’s fault, don’t blame her.  It can’t be helped!  If Jeffery is at the birthday party, or holiday dinner, or anyplace really were there is food, there is going to be a photo like this.  I’ve discovered through years of experience, it’s unavoidable.  Here are just a few examples from my file:

( Click on each photo to view full size. )

So, be very careful when you go looking at those Facebook photo albums, you just may find a Facebook Foto Flub.  And if you do, be sure to tell me about it so I can put it on the StalkerClan.
